Houston, TX (September 14, 2021) - In the early morning hours of Sunday, September 12, a fatal traffic collision took one life and injured another. Shannon Deville was pronounced deceased at the scene while April Ward suffered injuries in the crash.
According to preliminary investigative reports, the incident occurred at approximately 2:20 a.m. Sunday when a red Ford pickup was rear-ended by a Chrysler sedan. The Ford was stalled in the road at the time of the crash.
The driver of the truck told investigators that the male driver and two female passengers in the sedan were all alive when he left the scene to get help. However, the Chrysler was rear-ended by a maroon Dodge pickup shortly after the man left.
Upon the arrival of first responders at the crash site, they found Shannon Deville deceased in the backseat of the sedan. April Ward, who was riding in the front passenger seat, was transported to an area medical center in unknown condition.
Reports further stated that the driver of the Chrysler fled the scene before the second collision occurred. Authorities in Houston continue to investigate the details of the wreck.
We would like to offer our sincere condolences to the family of the deceased at this time. We hope for the full and fast recovery of the injured victim.
Houston Car Accidents
Motor vehicle accidents happen far too often in our state. In fact, statistics show that one accident occurs roughly every two minutes that result in injuries. These accidents add up to more than 270,000 each year. Although we hope that everyone is able to recover from their injuries, more than 3,600 people end up passing away as a result of their injuries.
The unfortunate truth is that no matter how vigilant we are in ensuring the safety of others sharing the road, there is no guarantee that all motorists will pay the same respect to us. As a result, we continue to see people harmed or killed in accidents caused by negligent, reckless, and distracted drivers. If your loved one lost their life in an accident as a result of another driver’s actions, it is essential that you seek the guidance of a knowledgeable wrongful death attorney in Houston. Working with a skilled and aggressive legal team will ensure you are able to recover from the loss of your loved one.
