Houston, TX (September 23, 2021) - Three people, including a patient being transported in a Houston Fire Department ambulance, were hospitalized after a crash in northeast Harris County. The collision occurred when the emergency vehicle was struck by another car and overturned on Wednesday, September 22nd.
Authorities say that it happened at about 8:00 a.m. on FM 1960 E. at Kings Parkway.
According to an eyewitness account, the light was red when the ambulance approached with its sirens flashing. As the ambulance proceeded through the intersection, a gray car T-boned the vehicle.
An official from the Atascocita Fire Department, three people were inside the ambulance: the driver, a paramedic, and a patient.
The driver and the paramedic worked to extricate the patient out of the back of the ambulance following the crash.
Two people, in separate vehicles, were also involved.
