Houston, TX (February 1, 2021) – One man was left injured following a motor vehicle accident on the north side of Harris County late Saturday evening. On January 30, the Harris County Sheriff’s Office responded to the scene of a crash in the 1900 block of Hopper Road.
Reports from HCSO show that an adult male pedestrian was traveling on Hopper Road when he was struck by a vehicle near the area of Aldine-Westfield Road. After landing in the roadway, the man was struck by a second vehicle. The drivers of both vehicles pulled over immediately and called for assistance.
The man was rushed to a nearby hospital for the treatment of critical injures. At this time, the Harris County Sheriff’s Office is investigating to determine the cause of the collision.
Our thoughts are with the man who was injured in this accident. We hope for his full recovery.
Pedestrian Accidents in Texas
Being harmed in a vehicle collision can have overwhelming consequences. This is especially true for pedestrians who are struck by vehicles throughout our state. In Texas, more than 7,500 people are injured in pedestrian accidents each year. Many victims require immediate medical treatment, surgery, and hospitalization. In many cases, victims suffer from broken bones in spinal cord injuries that leave them in overwhelming pain. As if dealing with pain were not enough, thousands of people require extensive medical treatment for their injuries. In most cases of severe injuries, victims are required to spend extensive time in area hospitals and go through therapy for months. Although we want to think that everyone is able to get the medical treatment they need to recover, that is not always the case. In fact, thousands of people are left with serious injuries that impact their ability to perform tasks, cause lasting pain and suffering, and prevent them from working.
