Pedestrian Fatalities in Houston

undefinedEach year, over 7,500 pedestrians suffer injuries in car accidents throughout Texas. The fact that pedestrians are without protections such as roll bars and airbags makes them more susceptible to serious and fatal injuries.

Most pedestrian victims endure injuries that force them to have emergency surgery and suffer through months of rehabilitation. Even though we hope that all victims will be able to fully heal from their injuries, this is rarely the case. In reality, car accidents are responsible for the deaths of around 3,600 people every year. Approximately 17% of these fatal victims are pedestrians.

When pedestrians lose their lives in accidents, they often leave behind friends and family members who are devastated by their sudden and unexpected loss. Although there are very few things worse than the loss of a loved one, knowing that they lost their life as a result of another person’s negligence makes the situation even more emotional. Although money cannot replace the lives of those taken away so suddenly, having the financial resources necessary to move forward after a loss can help alleviate some of the stress families endure. Working with a responsive and effective wrongful death attorney in Houston can help to ensure you are in the best position possible after experiencing the tragic loss of a loved one.
